Creating a Gallery / Slideshow

May. 3, 2012 by tbatchoo

  • Once in Cascade, locate your gallery folder, usually entitled “*name*-gallery.”
  • You must first upload all the images you’d like to have in your slide show into the ‘images’ folder. To learn how, go to Uploading an Image to Cascade.
  • After all the images have been uploaded to your ‘images’ folder (see above for example), you can create the slideshow. Click on the “gallery” page and then go to Edit in the page menu.
  • Click the photo icon to the right Image to open a new window. Locate and select the uploaded image you wish to use.
  • Alt refers to the alternative text. This should be a very brief (usually no more than a word or two) description of the image.
  • To add more images to your gallery, click the small [+].
  • To reorder your gallery, use the small black arrows to the right of the [+].
  • Once you’ve finished adding and organizing your gallery images, click Submit.
  • After submitting your gallery, you will need to publish both the gallery folder and any page in which the gallery will be displayed. To do so, click on the gallery folder on the left side of Cascade, then go to the Publish tab on the right. Click Submit.
  • Do the same for the “index” page (in the case of banner galleries), or wherever else the gallery will appear.
